APRIL AND MAY 2011

As i have said in my previous post, i made friendship with this guy through fb who was my friend's friend. But gradually i lost interest in him. I became more practical and became aware of people who exploit women through internet by demanding either money or sex from them.
Meanwhile i became very busy with my final project review and semester exams also that i had no time to think about all these non sense fb friendship with this stranger.
I wanted to get out of that class asap, because things were becoming highly unbearable as days rolled.
Two of my friends are gonna get married this year in the month of july and september respectively.
One other friend of mine fell in love with her uncle's brother. These girls were just making me sick.
They keep on talking about their fiance and the plans that they have after marriage. They even started advising me to get married soon and to find a guy and to fall in love with him.
Personally inside my head i thought " Life is not all about getting married and having children".
I had my own definitions for life in my dictionary.
I don t have any plan to get married before the age of 25 and i very strongly made this point very clear to my father.I wanted to earn a lot of money in life before settling down with a family.
I had my own short term and long term goals. My parents are also in the same idea. We think 20 is too young a age to get married!!!!!
Finally after finishing my last exam, i felt immense pleasure because i dont need to sit again in that horrible final year CSE-A class in Arunai Engineering College and to listen to all the stupid advises offered during the whole day by those mad creatures around me (i.e., always asking me to fall in love and get married soon).
I loved to live my life in my own way.
I loved to talk with decent people who had same ambitions in life as i. And i faced a small problem because of a status update in fb. i will never regret for it, even in the future.
Gone are the good old days when all i wanted was to get into VIT.
After finishing my last exam in my engineering degree (GRID COMPUTING), i was enveloped in fear that i will not clear that paper.
I started to make calls to all my friends and ask them if they too felt the same. (the paper was damn difficult)
Finally i came to know that we all are sailing in the same boat.
On April 30th 2011, a post offer programme was arranged in my college by TCS. As usual the man came very late for the venue (Mr.Suceendran). He talked for 30 minutes about how our life is going to be in tcs.
He asked us to prepare the modules that they have posted in the tcs portal before joining the ilp programme.
He also informed us that we will be getting our joining letter before september and will be asked to join in the month of september, most probably in Chennai Ambattur.
I forgot to mention that i picked up a fight with my father before my semester exam, and was in a mood to skip this semester exam and write all these 3 papers in the next sem.
It was during these days that i got the contact of one of my department senior who got placed in tcs.
Through him i got to know that they will not allow me to join if i had arrears in 8th sem. And i had very little options. So i studied and written all the exams in the 8th sem itself.
It was this senior who also told me that, no accommodation will be provided by tcs if we are posted for our ilp programme in chennai. I was really shocked.
April 1st was our department farewell. It was conducted in Arunai Anantha Restaurant in Thiruvannamalai. We had fun.photos of farewell.
Immediately after our farewell got over, we had model exam on the very next day afternoon and i bunked it.
I appeared only for one among the three papers in the model exam.
Who bothers for internals???? i am sure that i ll get good marks as i have done well in cia.
We also had world cup cricket finals in the month of April and we were very happy that india won the cup after 28 years under Dhoni's captainship.
This month (may) i am very busy doing my daily activities like sleeping till 12 am, reading novels, watching movies, going to library, cycling, facebooking, arranging things for my travel to uk next month, cooking rarely, washing my clothes if mum asks me to do it and very rarely helping mum with her household work as the maid who worked in our house ran away one night. :( :)
Thus goes my life in these holidays.
I am waiting for my 8th semester results eagerly and also i am a bit nervous when i think about it.

TWO MONTHS

The last two months i was very busy in ma lyf.
I was unable to visit my blog and write one.:(
So many things happened in these two months.
I got screwed up in Bengaluru for my final year B.E., project in the whole of January.
I lost touch with my exercise cycle when i was there in Bengaluru, which lead to the addition of 3 more Kgs to my body. :(
I visited many places there and became a spendthrift. I spent some 30,000 bucks in Bengaluru alone. :O
I ate like anything. Weekly thrice i ate chicken, and i hanged out with friends.
Made some good friends there.
I got a new friend in facebook, with whom i shared my phone number and he started calling me everytime he found time.

I visited my uncle's house in BMT Layout and visited places like Bannarghatta Zoo, ISKON, Lal Bagh, and many other shopping malls like Mantri Mall Malleshwaram, Forum Mall, Garuda Mall, Total Mall etc

We got many friends in the hostel, who took us out to a resturant for send-off party (dinner) on the night before when we left.:)

I spent my time by reading books in the hostel.
I have read many books when i was there.
5. someone
3 mistakes of my life
1 night @ the call center
twilight
new moon
eclipse
are the books that i have read when i was there.
I watched movies like Underworld, Underworld Evolution, Twilight, New moon, Eclipse, Mynaa etc.
I did a lot of shopping there.
My sis' parents-in-law took me out for dinner twice there.
I even visited a shiva temple there in Bengaluru which was near the Total Mall on the way between Marathahalli and Majestic.
My stay in Bengaluru was full of fun.

Later in the month of Febraury, i became close to this guy (the fb friend of mine(who is actually my friend's friend)).
We started chatting with each other everyday........which ended up in calling each other everyday........which ended up in fight..........which lead to understanding each other........which lead to something something........
Huh finally "NO MORE CHATTING OR CALLS TILL I FINISH MY DEGREE" :( :(
I am trying to go to gym regularly now.
And since only 3 days i have college in a week in this sem, i am trying to spend a good amount of my time in studies and in gym.:)
I learnt a lot about a guy's mentality after i started talking with this guy. :)

THE MOST MEMORABLE DAY

The day dawned as any other day in my life. But unlike any other day in my life, i was spending the night before, at my friend's house in Thiruvannamalai. Since we (people who are selected for direct Interview) are asked to come only at 8.00 a.m, we finished our breakfast and went to college.
By 9.00a.m the placement officer called all the 25 members who were selected for direct interview, and gave us a form to fill.He also asked us to place a copy of our resume inside the application which had a couple of pages.
The form asked for details like PAN number, Passport details, Percentage secured in std X, XII, aggregate secured in college till the last sem i.e.,6th sem, any scholarships that were won during our period of education and so on.
I was stupid enough to forget to take all my certificates of whatever achievements i have mentioned in my resume. :( .Later i called my mum that morning, and she brought all the certificates to the college.Thank u mum, u were of great help that day.
We waited for nearly 2 hrs with that application and resume, outside the college library; which was actually the interview room that day.
Around 11.00a.m the interview process started. Boys were the first people to be interviewed. While many people where highly tensed about the interview, i was unbelievably very cool and i was chatting happily with others about their preparation.
I was actually enjoying my cadbury DairyMilk Fruits and Nuts by eating the whole of the chocolate myself!!!!! I was very confident that i will get the job. lol :D
My over confidence even made some people loose their confidence. People had their own problems to think and worry about that day.......
I was the one of the last three girls who was interviewed. In my panel there were two young ladies wearing ethnic indian wear. One was very friendly, she gave me a lot of confidence and welcomed me warmly in the beginning. :) The other lady asked so many questions from the subject.
I answered in a satisfying way and they asked whether i am ready to sign a two years bond with TCS. I answered "yes". :)
It was all fine. I was all smiling when i came out. :) I was very confident that i will be selected. :)
We waited for nearly 3hrs for the results to be announced. Out of 500 something members who appeared for the placement process, only 35 were selected.
I was very happy when my name was announced. :) :) :)
I know i deserved it. All the pain that i have gone through in RMH and PEC in the first two years of my college life has been rewarded.
i know "HARDWORK NEVER FAILS". And here i am, a real life example for that. :) :)
I got in to the bus after 5.00p.m and called my parents and friends to inform the good news. Everyone was happy. My sister was shocked to hear the news that i made it.
She was actually a bit jealous too. :p
Here my blog ends.
Please write your comments. They are always welcome. :) :) :)

PLACEMENT PROCESS

The placement fever has started in my college immediately after my 7th semester exams got over.
Everywhere people started talking about placements. The first company to visit our college for campus recruitment this year (2010) is Tata Consultancy Services.
Our placement officer, a sincere and dedicated person in his job, wanted many of us to get placed.
So me created an oppurtunity for all the department toppers.
He prepared a list of students holding top-5 ranks in the departments of CSE, IT, EEE, ECE and MECH.
I was one among the top 5 in my department (CSE) and my rank was 4.
Test waiver was offered by TCS for these 25 students.
We are directly allowed to attend the HR & Technical interview. On one fine afternoon while i was checking my mails i got this rank list and the information in my inbox from the placement officer.
I found that the hardwork that i have put in panimalar engineering college in my first two academic years of  undergraduation did not get wasted. Those marks have really helped me out in boosting up my percentage and put me in the toppers list.
I was indeed very happy then. I was happy because i dont want to prepare for aptitude and i can spend more time in preparing for my interview.
I have already attended mock TCS interview conducted by the TCS people in a workshop held in my college on increasing the employability skills among the students.
This further gave me confidence to face interview. But i was weak in technical subjects in the 4th semester.
I waited for my semester exams to get over. As soon as the last exam was over, i started my preparation to face the interview with confidence.
I prepared answers for both technical and non-technical questions which they can ask us in the interview.
Meanwhile a three day brush up programme was conducted in our college for those students who are gonna take up aptitude. The TCS recruitment process is very simple. There were only two rounds.
1-Aptitude using TOUCH STONE software they have to answer some 35 questions in 80 minutes.Negative marking is there. 0.33 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.
2-Interview--which included both HR and technical.
Our college placement officer instructed all of us (toppers) to submit the resume to him a week before the recruitment process. We did as we were instructed and he pointed out the corrections that has to be made in our resume.
My sister helped me a lot in preparing my curriculum vitae. She edited it and sent spent a lot of her precious time inspite of her busy schedule. I would like to thank her in this post. Thank u sis for spending ur time and energy for preparing my curriculum vitae. you also gave me confidence in the last moment.
After everything was prepared for the placement, we were instructed to attend the pre-placement talk on Sunday 12-12-2010 in our college auditorium. We were all instructed to come in formal wear. They have also strictly said that those who did not attend the pre-placement talk are not allowed to take up the aptitude test next day.
So we arrived early for the pre-placement talk which was supposed to be held on sunday by 2.30 pm. But the TCS people arrived only after 5.pm. We waited for such a long time in the auditorium. We were highly irritated by their punctuality.
The talk got over in half-an-hour. The next day was the most memorable day in my life.
i have written about it in my next post.
please read it and your comments are most welcome.

TOP 10 THINGS THAT SCIENCE CAN'T EXPLAIN

Top 10 Things Science Can’t Explain
Science can’t explain all. But just because these things are yet to be explained, doesn’t mean science ‘cant’ explain them.

The WOW! signal
Wow, a secret message from outer space! Twenty years on and still no nearer an answer.

Pioneer’s Funky Voyage
The creators of these deviant probes are ripping their hair out trying to understand what went wrong.

Female Orgasms
After a whole lot of thinking, biology’s best minds are still confused.

Dark Energy
The universe is a dark, dark place, which makes it ruddy difficult to study.

The Speed of Light
Faster than a speeding photon: is it possible? Einstein stays no, but does everyone else?

The Placebo Effect
Take this pill and you’ll be cured, just as long as you believe me.

Cold Fusion
Can atoms get together and let off some steam without the sauna?

Yawning
Open your mouth and notice the shockingly fascinating mystery of the yawn.

Dark Matter
Just because you can’t see the WIMPs and MACHOs doesn’t mean they aren’t there.

What Came Before, What Will Come After
Wouldn’t it be really boring if it was just blackness. However, anyone’s guess is as good as ours.

ROBOTS AND HUMANS THE FUTURE OF AI

After watching the film @endhiran (The Robot)@ in tamil i will say that my creativity got increased and i have decided to write science-fiction blogs. For writing those, i need to first understand the basic fundas of science.
Lets see how the future will be, if man socializes with robots.
First lets say that the robot is used for entertainment purpose. As we have already seen in Artificial Intelligence . It is basically used while playing games in computer especially when the computer takes the role of player-2 and plays with us in Chess.Hence we can directly come to the conclusion that a robot can play chess!!!!!!!!!!!!
If a robot can play the mind-game Chess then why cant it play other simple games like Basketball,Badminton and Cricket?
Yes ofcourse the robot can act as a partner for those people who are living alone. It can give us company.
A robot's intelligence can also help us in doing our official work. Then as we advance with this sort of robot which can replace a human(as a  companion, a mentor, a fellow player in a team, a house worker) to a robot which can do our work efficiently and fast.Well it is quiet interesting to see a machine watering our plants in the garden.
This we can say as the machine's first step in understanding human life.
Secondly what if the robot has been programmed enough to perform our daily work in the office?
Lets image something like the one given above.Alright till now we have discussed how robots live like humans doing our everyday activities. Now we got to understand the most important phase in the life of a robot. The question that naturally differentiates a human from a robot is our ability to reproduce. This i will say is possible with the robots also. Wondering how?????????? See the image above.Similar to a human mother who breast feeds her child a robot mother feeds her child robot with electricity from her own body. AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Robots are the future.Believe it or not ONE DAY OR THE OTHER THEY ARE DEFINITELY GOING TO ROAM AMONG US AND LIVE LIKE HUMANS.

As the science-fiction film @The Robot@ says the robots have got tremendous power and if they are misused they have the capacity to destroy the earth also.
