It feels really good to post something in my blog after a very long break. Recently i have been to Scotland and bought the book P.S.I love you by cecelia hern.I found the book to be different from others which i have read so far. So i felt i should write something about this book in my blog.
To say the truth, this is the very first book of Cecelia Hern's which i have read. I still now have no idea about the author.I saw her photo in the cover of that book in the back. Blimme she looks beautiful and attractive.
After spending roughly some two weeks in Scotland, i slowly began to taste the life of people in english speaking countries.
To say the truth, it is very much different from life in India. They live a carefree life. They are highly fitness freaks.
If it is a warm and sunny day, i can definitely spot atleast one person jogging in the sidewalk.
Children after they come to age, are sent out of home. They live with their friends, doing a part time job and studying on their own.
People prefer a long term live-in relationship with their soulmates, rather getting married. Some even get married at the age of 60.
London girls are highly fit and "in-shape".I loved that culture. I went out shopping for the food items in a supermarket a few times and was slightly astonished.
Everything which we take a long time to prepare in our kitchen in India is available in ready-made packets.
wow!!! wait a min........it seems that i am moving away from my topic of interest "the book". But actually i am trying to explain that, after living through this sort of culture for quite a few days, i am able to like the way the author has written the book. She is very practical in her way of writing and has written stuffs that actually happen in a country like Ireland without over exaggerating things.
This really impressed me. I also learnt many things which i have not known before like "hen-party", "barbeque dinners" etc.
I would tell the truth that, the book P.S.I love you should be read in a relaxed state of mind, whenever one finds free time, like while travelling or sun-bathing or to relax mind.
I found it to be very boring if i read more than 4 chapters continuously.
The reason y i bought the cd is that, my friends in college have told me that it is a very good romantic movie and a "must watch".
Since i have got the idea that movies that are based on novels will never project the true story in the way the author has written that, (ofcourse from my previous experience with harry potter series) i felt that i should watch that movie only after reading the book.
As expected, many characters and many chapters from the book were deleted completely in the movie. I enjoyed the movie less when compared to the book.
Well, to finalise it all, i liked that book better than the movie and it was a really wonderful work of Cecelia Ahern.
